Meet Dr. Jerome Schoen
Jerome E Schoen, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Jerome Schoen attended Xavier University in Cincinnati for his undergraduate work. He continued his education at Loyola University Dental School and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors. He remained at Loyola for two post graduate years, earning a Masters degree, while receiving advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The final two years of his specialty training were spent at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
After the completion of his training, Dr. Schoen moved his family back to the North Suburban Chicago area. He opened his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice in Barrington, IL and several years later in Palatine, IL. During that time, he was an active faculty member in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola Dental School, a position he held for seventeen years.
Dr. Schoen was a founding member of the Physician Committee to start Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington and was involved in the recruitment and credentialing of the first medical staff. He continues to be an active staff member at Good Shepherd and has served on many committees including the executive committee. He also maintains staff appointment at Northwest Community Hospital. Dr. Schoen was appointed by the Illinois State Dental Board to be a state examiner in the Oral Surgery section, a position he held for several years.

Memberships in professional organizations include the ADA, the Illinois State Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, as well as the Illinois Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a lifetime member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society; he also has attained fellowship in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and American Society of Dental Anesthesia.
