Dr. J. Travis Thompson, DDS

Dr. Thompson is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has been caring for patients in the Lake County area since 2006. 

After graduating from the University of Illinois Dental School, he completed advanced training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with the U.S. Army, including serving as Chief of Surgery for Head, Neck, and Dental Trauma Research.

He has a particular interest in maxillofacial pathology, dental implants, and the management of medically complex patients. Dr. Thompson combines a passion for innovation with a commitment to making each patient feel informed and comfortable throughout their care.

The office itself is very nice and modern. Staff were very helpful in answering questions. New patient paperwork was easy to fill out as well, although we uploaded insurance and ID they still asked for it in person which was fine. My dad had full teeth extractions, they coordinated well with our dentist office. They send a pretty simple and straight forward pre-op video to watch beforehand and their website has plenty of information. The doctor seemed very down to earth and chill. Assured my dad everything would be okay. Meds were sent on time. Overall great experience would highly recommend!

I had a first consultation appointment with  Dr. Thompson. I found the staff very friendly,  professional and accommodating. After the Panarex X-ray, Dr Thompson came in and  explained the treatment procedure for a tooth extraction and implant. Dr. Thompson is amazing at what he does! He was so fast at doing the local anesthetic injection, that I didn't have time to dwell on how nervous I was. The next thing I knew, the wisdom tooth was out in what seemed like seconds. My recovery was pain free and so much easier then I thought it would be.
